    • Alison & Dallas Labor Says:

I have lived here at Enders & sSteinback since 1997. This is the first time we lost a cat too. About 3 weeks ago someone on Gullstrand found the one remaining foot & the insides (internal parts) remaining. This happened at the time that the big signs went up around the neighborhood. Panther was a black long haired older cat. My daughter works the night shift and sees coyotes sometimes on the way home on Gullstrand close to Werner which is close to where my cats parts were found. My cat does not go far so that means that that animal came close to my house at night and then brought my cat blocks away & ate him. I make sure that my other 2 cats are in at night & have warned other people to do the same. This was not reported to to police or animal cruelty.

  4. Erica Specht Says:

My cat had his tail broken on Saturday, August, 21st. The break was not caused by a biting animal. I plan to pursue this further and will put up neighborhood alerts in my neighborhood. Let me know if I can assist the group in any way. Has anyone called Turko (Channel 51)? I think this needs to be publicized so that we can catch the evil person(s). Marty Levin (Channel 39) also lives in UC.

  5. Erica Specht Says:

I forgot to give my location: Cozzens and Pavlov.

  6. Maryanne Jackson Says:

    Erica,
Sounds like your cat got lucky, and was able to escape. Perhaps someone or thing tried to retain your cat against its will and almost was re-captured by the tail.
Your cat must be quick and smart!

  7. Scott Says:

One of our cats on Murphy went missing around July 10 (give or take a few days). I know of at least 2 other cats (from their owners) that have gone missing on Murphy as well. Both in late June or early July.

    • jeff Says:

      Scott,

do you have the names of the cats and the
dates lost for the other two?

      • Rebecca Says:

I’m Scotts wife. Our cat’s name was Ashley a long hair grey female that went missing around July 10-11 and our neighbor’s cat went missing around May 19th her name was Mushu and she was a calico. Both of us live on Murphy.

  8. Diane Says:

Jeff, here’s another to add to the list. We are on Tamilynn St, on the other side of Governor.
The cat’s name was Tiger. He was found on Thursday Aug 20, with his head in one front yard and his body in another. The owner did call the police/animal control.

  9. Charlse Says:

There has always been coyotes in UC. I heard a pack trying to get to a little dog. The little dogwas bark fiercly at the coyotes. The coyotes were on the small cayon covered hill above rous street and the houses off of governor drive.I think the dogs owner must not have been home.I dont know the outcome. I have also heard coyotes “celebrating” on or near the softball field. Small dogs and cats must always be brought in before dusk. The presence of coyotes is no greater this year. I feel we just have more people here who are not native and aware of coyotes.
